All of the major blogging engines have a web interface for editing. Although the UX is not bad there are some things that are just hard to do in an Active-X rich edit control. For a while I was typing straight HTML into notepad++ and then copying the contents to my blog. However, the problem is that I still needed to upload images and make sure that the layout worked well with the CSS theme applied to my blog. I really wanted to have a desktop client that would allow me to write my blog posts using a “word-like†editor. After a little bit of searching I stumbled across Windows Live Writer.
At first, I thought that Windows Live Writer would probably only support Live Spaces but I was pleased to find that it also supports Typepad, WordPress and Blogger! As a matter of fact, this very post was created with Live Writer. I highly recommend it!
