I loved the 80's. I still find myself listening to 80's music and watching 80's movies. As a computer geek you may remember the Commodore 64. It was released in 1982 and sold for around $600 USD. It was an 8 bit home computer and had 64 KB of RAM. During it's time it sold over 30 million units and was the most popular personal computer model of all time.
Fast forward to the year 2009. You just got done watching the Back to the Future box set and ripping your Devo albums to MP3. Now you want to sit back on the recliner, drink a Tab cola, and tinker with your Commodore 64. What! You don't have a C64 anymore. Well don't fear, The Silverlight C64 project is here. The Silverlight C64 project on codeplex, is just another shining example of the insane things you can do with SilverLight. The emulator was demoed at the MSDN conference I attended last week and I was really impressed by it. Pete Brown did a fantastic job porting the C64 to Silverlight.
Remember that with Silverlight 3 we now have the ability to take applications out of the browser. This means that if a Silverlight application is configured for offline use, then you can right click on the app and install it locally on your computer. There is a really good video from MIX09 on this topic if you want to learn more.
